SIMPLE, EFFECTIVE WAYS TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD
- Place signage at your place of business supporting candidates you believe will vote in retailers’ best interests.
- Attend fund raisers and town hall meetings held by candidates/officials running for office -- and speak out on the issues important to you.
- Host a fund raiser for a supportive elective official or candidate.
- Make a donation of your own to his/her campaign.
- Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper endorsing your candidate or making your opinions on this issue known.
- Position yourself as a resource of information about tobacco and other business-related issues – before and after a candidate is elected.
- Maintain contact with candidates after they are elected to ensure your issues are heard.
